The heritage

The Conservatory of Russian Music in Paris was created by a group of professors from the imperial conservatories of Russia, at the time chaired by Sergei Rachmaninov and composed of personalities including Prince Andreï Wolkonsky, Gretchaninov, Glazunov and Chaliapin.

In the 1930s, the Russian Music Society in France took over its management and still contributes today to the influence of Russian classical music in Paris. Many artists still give concerts in this bilingual music school. There is a remarkable collection of works of art and an important music library which will soon be set up for musicians and researchers.

The Russian Music Society in France (RMS) is recognized as a public utility and is open to donations from enterprise and individuals to support this unique heritage.
